um being a new nurse is hard male or female. being a male was difficult for me at first. it was very awkward when i was around exposed female patients. i dodn twant to make them uncomfortable. but if you give cofidence and respect that tend to calm the patients nerves down. but i kind of feel as a male nurse i get much more respect from patients then the female nurses. first of all no matter how many times i tell a patient they atill think im the dr. so overall patients tend to give me much more respect then female nurses. but thats not all the time, some ppl are just mean lol
